10月31日，消失已久的Mazzy Star將帶著他們的新單曲Common Burn與Lay Myself Down回歸，這一消息由他們的官方論壇放出，已經得到了宣傳人員的確認。先發行數位單曲，11/8再發行限量彩色黑膠，而且，2012年還會有全新大碟問世。

 
作為上個世紀九十年代迷幻音樂傑出代表的Mazzy Star，在發行三張專輯創造輝煌後便在大眾的眼前消失。這讓歌迷們對樂團的狀況產生種種懷疑與臆測，甚至有人懷疑主唱已經自殺。但這個說法在2000年HopeSandova發行個人EP的時候不攻自破。之後Hope還與她自己的樂隊the Warm Inventions發行過專輯。這一次發行的單曲是在他們解散之後第一次重新以Mazzy Star的名義發行新的音樂。
對於Mazzy Star來說，現在正是一個重組的好時候，因為他們的音樂對今年的許多獨立樂團有很大的影響，比如Dum Dum Girls 以及 Widowspeak。同時，他們早前發表的歌曲”Into Dust”也成為了視頻遊戲“戰爭機器3”的商業廣告用曲。
